Dog Study

Same as the horse study before I go through the steps of learning the animal anatomy. This assignment was to choose a dog and what better model then my own Dachshund Waffle. The final render is a little different than what I did with my horse.

I personal love the outcome of graphite on a wooden panel. I will continue doing animal drawings like this mainly pets. I do commissions, so if you would like to get your own pet portrait, feel free to contact me via email.

Winter

With thanksgiving over christmas is fastly approaching which means I have a massive pile of cards I must send out but 1st I need to create a nice illustration for them. So I went with a winter snowy theme and a beautiful red cardinal. Plus I need the digital painting practice this is the start of it.

Dog Portrait

So lately me and my boyfriend have be missing are beloved little dogs back home. So I finally decided a picture is not enough to capture their personalities. A dog portrait it was! I choose my boyfriend dog Samson a chiwawa miniature pinscher mix. This little dog fits his name well for a small dog he has a very huge personality.

So I used a combo of 2 different images of Samson to capture his figure. I using a wood panel and sketched in graphite. Then with all my details down I plan to paint over the graphite. Currently still painting it will post as soon as done. But this is a very fun little project and we can't look at it without saying awww.

Update!!! This dog portrait is finally finished ! Good advice to doing a water color piece on wooden panel is carefully choose your panel going with the more pricey one is worth it.

Animal Drawing

This semester I'm taking Intro to Animal Drawing and anatomy, one of the most funniest classes the Academy has to offer. Taught by Tanya Ericson, she always bring amazing animal models into class! This week she's bringing in exotic cats I'll be sure to post up pictures and get some drawings in. For now these are some of the models so far.....
